Ottumwa air servicewill end on Sunday■ OTTUMWA (AP) — Ottumwa will be left without an air carrier for the first time in 16 years with Sunday's departure of Great Uakes Aviation.Great Lakes had been operating in Ottumwa since October 1985.As part of the $15 billion Airline Resuscitation Act passed late Friday, the Essential Air Service fund, which helps subsidize service to smaller communities such as Ottumwa, received authorization for a $70 million shot in the ann from Congress.However, it’s too late for Ottumwa to tap the money, said Great Lakes spokesman Dick Fontaine.Currently, city officials are working to bring Corporate Airlines, which operates under the Trans World Express flag between Kirksville, Mo. to St. Louis. The proposal for Ottumwa includes service to and from Kansas City.businessman will help the city to heal, the police chief says.“I think this is great news,” Police Chief Joe Frisbie said after Adam Matthew Moss pleaded guilty Tuesday to seven counts of first-degree murder.“It’s going to put closure to this issue, and maybe our community can start healing now,” he said.Moss, 24, was sentenced by Woodbury County District Judge John Ackerman to seven consecutive life prison tenns in the slayings of Leticia Aguilar, her five children and businessman Ronald Fish.Ottumwan, 68, charged with abuse of teen-ager■ OTTUMWA (AP) — A 68-year-old Ottumwa man is accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl over a seven-month period.William D. Hulen was charged with third-degree sexual abuse and faces up to 10 years in prison.
