~—* Former Carroll County Woman ShootsHer Husband.A shooting affray of interest to Carroll county people occurred at Omaha Tuesday evening about supper time, in which Herman Yer Mehren received a dangerous wound in the side, William Kaufman two wounds in the arm, and Louis A, MeAlvoy ft flightwound in the leg. The shots werd#fired by Mrs. Yer Mehren, whose husband is a member of a wholesale liquor firm of that city, and the others are employes. Mrs. Yer Mehren is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. H. Feenstra of Arcadia. She was married to Yer Mehren about twelve years[ ago, but separated about a year age. j Last March the wife brought divorce proceedings againfct her husband, charging desertion, gross cruelty and infidelity. Pending the decree temporary alimony of $75 a month was granted her, which Yer Mehren had been somewhat dilatory in paying. It was while she was at his office to get this money that the difficulty oc-oured which caused the shooting. Her husband told her she would have to wait until he could earn it,and ordered her out of the place. She refused to go until she received the money which was past due and he threatened to kick her out and started for her when she shot him. Kaufman, the bookkeeper, came to the rescue of his employer and she shot him and the other man received his slight wound from a stray bullet. This morning’s Omaha papers say that Yer Mehren will probably recover.
