Thinking thatsome motorists were in trouble, thepolice stopped to give them a hand.There was nothing wrong with thecars, for the police discovered thatthree cases of liquor were beingtransferred from one truck to the twoautos. One of the cars succeeded ingetting away, but the authorities succeeded in making several seizures.From the story told by the police, it is stated that a trunk arrived in thecity containing the three cases ofliquor. A truck was requested to takeoutskirtswhen the trunk would be opened andthe cases taken away by other autos.The transfer was being made whenthe police arrived on the scene.Saturday night a late session of thepolice court was anc* R- C. Bradford pleaded guilty id an infractionthe Manitoba Temperance act. Hewas fined $500 and costs. Three otherpersons, Percy Bowden, Fred Klea andJohn Williamson, were charged in thepolice court with infractions of thesame act, but their cases were re-manded until Thursday morning.rfIsI
