seriously injured by her footi being. caught under the root of a tree, which projected ovor the sidewalk.On Sunday morning, about eleven o'clock, the horse and buggy of Mr. Wm. McLaughlin were stolen from in front of the Scott street Methodist Episcopal Church. As soon as Mr. M. discovered his loss he gave information to ex-Marshal Clint. Butts, who was not long in ascertaining that a fellow named Billy Tiger was the probable perpetrator of tho theft, and that he had gone in the direction of Newport. He immediately went in pursuit, and in a lew hours captured Billy in the buggy, about nine miles out on the Alexandria Pi lie, and brought him safely back to this city,where ho is now in jail.
