September 2S-—Edward Schlene and Charles Stmmoni detectives for the Michigan Central railroad, were taken through a rear door of an undertaking establishment at Chesterton Friday afternoon, where an inquest was held over the body of John McFarland, of Chicago, and brought to the jail here for safekeeping when 260 citizens of Chesterton and Porter assembled in front of the building and made a demonstra- ition against them.
