George Bradshaw, the colored boy from Terhune, who was convicted of perjury in the circuit court last week, gave the deputy sheriff a race yesterday morniug when he was being brought over from the jail to have sentence passed upon him. He ran against a tree near J. M. Bechtell’s house and was caught by Tom Shulse. After he received his sentence he was taken back by Sheriff Davis and his bailiff, Henry Peters. He made another break for liberty, and was again captured by Shulse, near Joseph Davis’, on Cemetery street.
