Preliminary hearing was continued Thursday afternoon in Eastern district magistrate court in the case of Donald Steven Massey, 325 South Ball, Webb City, on charges of burglary and stealing and possession of nar cotic drugs after Judge Herbert Casteel disqualified himself. Western district Magistrate Charles E. Teel Jr. is expected to hear the case. Massey is charged in a break in Aug. 30 at the office of Dr. William Forbes, 106 South Main, Webb City. Taken were several drugs and related equipment valued at $28. He was arrested Sept. 14 on the drug possession charge. He remains in the Jasper county jail in lieu of bonds totaling $16,000. Hearing was continued in the case of William Gregory Forbes, 201 South Ball, Webb City, on charges of burglary and stealing in connection with the break-in of his father’s office at Webb City. He remains in lieu of $10,000 bond. Preliminary hearings was set for Sept. 27 in the case of James K. Burns Jr. on charges of issuing a no account check. He remains in the Jasper county jail in lieu of $1,000 bond. Burns is charged with allegedly issuing a $10 check Aug. 9 to Bob Bass Shoes, 326 Grant, for which there was no account. Other cases heard included those of: Calvin Lynn Pringle, 1045 James, possession of intoxicants, $50 and costs; David Wayne Spurgeon, 320 South Fulton, possession of in toxicants, $50 and costs.
