Worrell Gives Four MenCOUI ro36 Years In PenitentiaryPINEVILLE, Sept. 23—The combination of wine, whisky, and home brew resulted in a probable 36-year-long headache for four men in Wyoming Circuit Court.Each was on probation after having been sentenced on felonies in the June term of Wyoming court. Each ran afoul of the law after violating the terms of their probation by drinking intoxicating liquors.The longest headache—two to 20years_is being suffered by Truman Blankenship, of the Simon area, after he had been arrested as a member of the '•Goodman gang” in the spring. He had been indicted for burning a house owned by Tommy Goodman, the alleged leader of the gang, and occupied by the Blankenships- He had been sentenced to serve two to 20 years and then was released on probation He was arrested Monday after officers charged his probation violation to drinking wine. His probation was revoked and his sentence invoked,Glasco Smith, of Beckley, charged by Beckley police with$50,000 Damagedrunkenness and resisting arrest onSaturday night, heard Judge Rob- jert M. Worrell invoke his original I sentence of one to 10 years to the j state penitentiary today. He confessed during the June term of j Wyoming Circuit Court to the theft of copper wire from the Marianna | Smokeless Coal Co., and was placed on probation.
