He says that the negroes number about 14 per cent, of the population of Saline county. Those In and around Eldorado appear to be very peaceable and progressive, though there are some bad characters, of course. Some fifty negro families have left Eldorado and vln-clnity, owing to race troubles, most of them being residents of the town, though a few are owner* of improvod farms. Quite a number of negroes still remain, however.
