Jesse Evans is still in jail at Fort Stockton and is very anxious that Go vernorWallace should make a requisition upon the Governor of Texas for him. He evidently thinks there would be a better chance of escape for him in this Territory than in Texas.. The Governor will probably allow him ro remain whore be is until lie is tried and then, if acquitted, have a requisition ready for him the moment he is turned loose.
