An alert was sent to all police agciu’ics in the area.An undetermined 'amount of money was stolen in an armed robbery about 11;45 a.m. today at the Western Savings and Loan Association, 1690 4th Avenue.Police were searching for n white man, about 30 years of age, wearing a burgundy plaid shirt, gray bat and tftmls, and wearing sun glasses. He reportedly had dark brown hair. He Is about five feet, nine inches la) I, and weighs about 175 pounds.Were BalancingDetectives were investigating the armed robbery at noon, The amount of money was undetermined, however, Western Savings and Loan Association employees were balancing the money to determine the exact iimount. Savings and Loan officials said the money was a relatively small amount.Detective Ltv Powell Elkins and Sgt. Carl Canslcr were In ’the building and around the tiroa gathering information. Sgt. Ctmsler said tie hadn't Investigated what the robber might have ^aid to the clerk, Candy Muhk, 1575 7th Avenue. Sgt' Canslor said he was going to take the young clerk to the Police Department in order to form a composite drawing of the armed robber.Initial investigation revealed that' the armed robber walked into the building with a gun : inside a newspaper. Miss Munk ! told police she could see the gun barrel under the newspaper. ;
