The following Indictments were returned by the grand Jury:Indictments.vHoward Cosner of Kewanee, former Golden Gloves boxer, named In two Indictments, one Alleging murder and the other, robbery. Cosner was charged with striking Theodore li. Stevenson, 35, former Hock Island cigar s^ore operator, on April 12,1040, during an altercation in the Rock Island loop district. Stevenson fell, his head striking the pavement, and he died a few hours later In a hospital. The robbery indictment accuses Cosner of taking 80 cents from his alleged victim.(The case of Cosner. who had been indicted by a grand Jury last year, was presented to the presentgrand jury for consideration because the original Indictments were returned by. a jury on which women were serving. A question arose as to the legality of such service by women, and whether it i?ould affect the true bills. Service by women,however, has since been upheld.)John Wagnaar of Rock Island, named In two indictments. In onehe Is charged with assault. In tho other he Is charged with robbery. Wagnaar was arrested in Rock Island after he allegedly struggled with Mrs. Ethel Henry, 1200 Twentieth street, Rock Island, as' she was .walking near her home the night of June 2 and stole $5 from her. Mrs. Henry was injured to an extent requiring hospitalization.George Mosher of Rock Island, named In three Indictments, two for incest and one for rape. The crimes allegedly occurred the latter part of June.
