REV. LAKE AT HEAD 'Df PERU DISTRICT* \Fort Wayne U. B. Pastor NowPresiding Elder—Rev,Byrer Comes Here.Rev. J. W. Lake, for live years pastor of Calvary United Brethren church and one of the most popular of Fort Wayne clergymen, will remove from the city. He has been advanced to the mere respon'sifcle position of presiding elder and placed in charge of the Peru district, whichwill necessitate his removal to that city.The ehange was made by the United Brethren conference which closed its sessions at Warsaw Sunday and the new pastor named forCrl-vsry U. B. church is Rev. G. P. Byrer, who comes to Fort Wayne from Warsaw. The latter is regarded as one of the most gifted ministers in the St. Joseph conference of the church.Rev Lake came to Fort Wayne Uvehxnxra, v returning , its finding at 5o’clock Saturday evening. The verdict was signed by Henry Norris as j foreman and read as follows: |“We, the Jury, find the defendant, \ Claude L. Coolman, guilty of murder f in the second degree, as he slands \ charged in the indictment, and assess I as punishment therefor that he be ’• iimprisoned in the state prison during j life.”»* * Young Coolman and his father were jiin court when the finding was re- j turned. The young min was plainly • nervous, but he did not manifest any • considerable surprise when the an-;inouncesnent was made.
