Milo Maudlin, who for several months has been pressman of this office, shot himself twice with a revolver inflicting wounds which will in all probability cause his death. The first shot entered the left breast, about one inch below the nipple, and passed close to the heart, t his not having the effect to kill him at once, he then placed the revolver to ihe right side of his head and tired, but the ball glanced, inflicting only a -calp wound, lie lay in the grove for ibout an hour, when by superhuman efforts he managed to walk hack to town, stopped at the home of his sister at Mrs. Scofield’s, and got the keyf his room in Commercial block, sav-•ing to her that he was sick and was going up to lie down awhile. He got to his room and shortly after his -is-ter went to the room to see how he was getting along, when he told her he had -hot himself and believed he would die. She at once summoned I)r. Hates, and an examination showed the wounds above described.In an interview with him as to the eausc of his attempt at suicide, he said that he had been drinking some tad was despondentand wanted to die.
