Charged With Assault Of An RCMP OfficerFour individuals, three adults, and a juvenile were charged with the assault of an RCMP officer, and appeared in court yesterday [TuesdayJ. The incident occurred early Sunday morning at approximately 2 a.m. when a member of the RCMP stopped the vehicle in which the four were riding for a routine traffic check. Charged were John PeterKing,East Selkirk;Stefanishyn, 18, of East Selkirk, and John Robert Monkman, 18, of RR2 Selkirk. Thejuvenile, whose identity is protected by law, has his name withheld, and the matter in his case was turned over to the juvenile authorities. The trio of adults appeared in court and have been remanded in their own custody until October 5th.
