Kidnaping T noUnder IndictmentAbductors of AdaSheriff Face ChargesSt. Paul. Sept. 22 (UP)—The fed-era! grand jury today . returned three true bills before Judge George F. Sullivan against two men and a woman charged with kidnaping Sheriff Oscar Bang of Normancounty.George Franklin Heck. 22, a native of Rock Hill, Pa., John Nagle Pape, 23, Leedsville, Tex., and Gladys Kaiser, 19, Hatton. N. D., were charged with kidnaping and transportation of a stolen automobile across the state line.Heck and Pape, both fugitives from the Washington state reformatory, were charged separately with automobile theft. All three now are held in Ramsey county jail, butwill go on trial at Fergus Falls January 4, 1944.The alleged kidnaping occurred in late August. After their arrest on suspicion by Sheriff Bang, the men produced guns and forced Bang and his deputy out of an automobile while enroute to Fargo, N. D. Later the two officers were shackled to a tree with their own handcuffs. The three allegedly staged a night club stickup in Minneapolis on their way to Chicago where they were arrested August 28.The grand jury named 18 other persons on indictments today in addition to returning seven secret indiotments. Charges ranged from Mann act violations to draft dodging.j
