Queer Caper.Cliff Lambert, who has been living with his family on a farm about ten miles north of Atlantic, has created considerable stir by his queer actions. He had a partner by the name of Niff in the working of the farm. It appears that there was a mortgage of $2,500 on the property and a chattel mortgage of about $G00, held by W. J. Newton. Becoming tired of farming he packed up his private papers and left the country, and it is rumored that a woman, not his wife, accompanied him. However before he left he represented he was going to Chicago or Omaha to buy stock and on that representation gave a second mortgage on his chatties and induced Elias Spry to go his security for $1500 more. This put him in pretty good fix financially. The Commercial Bank has filed an attachment suit at the court house in favor of W. J. Newton, to protect the rights of his wife’s mother.Vou# Rottor Kflfin a Smllln
