iUUIClUDUViDEMOCRATIC ABGTTMEHT.Ata Democratic meeting held at Iron toe, Ohio, one of the speakers, Alien O. Myew, devoted all hie time to abuse of W. B. Tomlinson, the editor of a Republican paper in that place, and among other things wd that Tomlinson's mother was a negress. Ur. Tomlinson sent Myers a note demanding au immediate retraction, to which the latter paid no attention. Then Tomlinson sought him la his hotel and with a cocked revolver made Myers rise from his seat and swear that what he had said about Mrs. Tomlinson was a falsehood. This incident illustrates the whole stock in trade of the Democratic orators in this campaign. Unable to meet the Republicans upon the Issues involved they spend all their thne in vilUfying Blaine and all his followers, even to the humblest. *When the campaign is over they will find that intelligent people are not to be turned from their purposes by such villlflcation, but tlaftt they will look beyond all such filthy abuse, and vote to prerent the Democratic party from turning over the markets of the United States to the manufacturers of Great Britain and other countries where labor is procured cheaper than here.
