The two horsemen were driving north of the city nhich of yesterday (Tut-.sduy) afternoon, having a livery rig and one of the men was under the influence of liquor quite badly. About six o’clock they were driving along, just us the Westphalen wagon came along, on the way from the slaughter bouse., In the wagon were Harry Woolsey, Chas. Stowe and Wm. Eckles. The drunken man in the buggy got out, grabbed one of the boys in the wagon and tried to jerk him out, at the same time shonting to, them to halt, while waving a gun and knife in the air.' The boys in the wagon were somewhat frightened at first, thinking it a holdup sure enough, but when they saw what was the matter they were ready to argue the matter with the drunken fellow. The other horseman, who was in the buggy, got out, grabbed his partner and took away the knife and gun and finally the drunken one of the duet got into the buggy, there was some attempt to “square” the matter with the butcher boys by the other fellow, and they drove away. The boys cable up town and filed information in the court of Justice Pressnall, charging the man who stopped them with drunkenness aad assault with intent to do great bodily injury.
