Brutal Parents.A report was published a few da vs ago of the death of a little girl at Helena, canned j by the brutal treatment of her stepmother, and the arrest of both the woman ami her husband. Of the caae the Helena lleruhl of yesterday savs: “At the examinationIeaterday Iwfore Judge Buvis of Edward hl»erg and Louisa Rehberg, upon the charge of causing the death of their little daughter, tiara, by inhuman treatment, Messrs. Carter it Claylerg apieared for Eilwan! Rehberg and Casey it Rehlwrg for Louisa Kelilierg, the stepmother. The testimony given by the family at the examination showed a condition of ignorance and disregard of the nature of an oath wholly unexpected from |*erMoii* hold* ing the position of rlt;kwponsible human beings. Such a lierd let run without instruction or any teachings of accountability, will surely be the fruitful source of other crimes than beating a little sister to death. For such as they a house of correction would be an exalted home far above their den of ignorance and vice. Both defendants were held in $l,(HM» bonds to apiear before the next grand jury, in default of which Iamisu Rehberg was remanded to jail and the husband was held upon his own recognisance.
