Unloaded’ Piste!Kills Mercer GirlMATOAKV P — \ nine - far-old K»rl accidentally shot and killed herself at nearby Yrista inMercer County Saturday when site put a pistol, believed unloaded, into her month and pulled the trigger, police said.V Matoaka physician said Pauline Akers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, C larence \\. \kers, apparently died instantly,\ neighbor of the \kers told State Trooper John Tryall she saw the girl chasing other children with the gun, a .22 calibre targetpistol owned by the girl’s father.I he woman said she asked Pauline about the pistol, and quoted Pauline as saying “its not loaded.” With that, Pauline put the barn U of the gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger, the woman reported.1 In* girl's mother collapsed when she learned of the accident andwas taken to a Minefield hospital for treatment.
