W, F, Hoar,;23, Uses Revolver When Refused DrinkFires Seven Shots in All, but None Is Seriously InjuredWalitfng into the bar,.at 686 Washington 8t, just at closing time last night, a young man who gave his name as William F. Hoar, 23 years old, of 42 King at, Dorchester, created something of a panic when, after an argument, he pulled out a revolver and began shooting. He fired seven shots and three of them wounded other customers at the bar.The wounded men, none of whomwere seriously hurt, were:GEORGE W. LIGGETT of Granite ay,Dorchester, wound in right shoulder.Relief Hospital.JAMES H. QUINN of 273 Myers st, Dor- .Chester, wound in side of head. Relief Hospital.HARRY W. BURROUGHS of 15 Fred- , ericlc at, Dorchester, wound in right • wrist. Relief Hospital.According to the police Hoar went Into the bar, which Is run by Thomas Murphy, a few Becond* before 11 o’clock, and walking up to the bar demanded a drink. He was told, it is claimed, that the bar had closed.He started to argue with the bartender, and other men at the bar made some remarks which ho resented. An argument followed, and finally Hoar pulled out a 22-caliber revolver.He flourished this and every one in the place shot their hands into the air ao bullets began to fly.In all he fired seven ahatB. Three of them found targets, and as a result Liggett, QUinn and Burroughs were taken to the hospital. None of the men hit was seriously hurt.The sound of the shooting caused much commotion on the street, as .well as inside the bar, and excited pedestrians told patrolmen Hanahan and Wilson of the Lagrange-st Station that murder waa being committed. The.two officers in plain clothes entered the1 bar with pistols drawn and arrested Hoar. •He was booked on a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill the three men he had hit.
