Motolo, tlie North Union atreat photographer, passed through an. experience last evening at about 7:45 ■which he does not care to repeat. He and two gentlemen were standing near the front door inside his studio con-9versing, when he heard the report of a gun, at the same instant the breaking of glass, and something went whizzing past his face.1 For a moment he was somewhat startled and hardly knew which way to' look to locate the trouble, but one of the gentlemen pointed to the broken window In one of the double doors, which happened to be closed at the time- There was a hole about two and one-half inches across and about an inch wide by two inches long on one side.A search was made for the thing that capsed the hole, but nothing could be found about the place. Why Mr. Moblo is so positive that it was a gun shot which made the hole in the glass is the fact that reaching across the room and into the ad Joining * one, was a strip of fino* glass spun along the floor and rug. tHarvey Ransom, who operates a popcorn stand opposite the studio, told an Eagle reporter last evening that two men drove up in a buggy drawn by cream colored horses. The first thing that attracted his attention was the rearing of the horse, and that Just as they started to rim, he heard what sounded to him like the report of a gun. Further than that he could tall nothing. Whoever the parties were who did the shooting, they have not been apprehended.Mr. Moblo said this morning: 4tlhave no idea who could have tried to do such a thing to me, for I have not an enemy on earth that T know of, an enemy on earth that I know of” The missile entered the glass very near a . transparent picture of the Niagara Falls, which hung* la £he window . and - Mr. • Moblo thoughtthe-picture, to be cute, but otherwise he was at a loss to ferret out the mystery.
