A Doable Tragedy.Charles Plank and Jerry McCartyMurdered at Log an sport Last Night.Logansport, September 15,—Ater ri ole tragedy was enacted in thiscity to-night at 8 o’clock, Charles \ Plank and Jerry McCarty were out driving and stopped at the saloon of David Hallam where an altercation immediately followed. During the melee two shots were fired by Hallam one of which took effect one inch above Plank’s left eye, lodging at the base of his brain. The other lodged in McCarty’s neck. Plank died at 9 o’clock, and McCarty is now dying. Hallam and wife were both badly bruised. Hallam is in jail. Plank comes from one of the best families of the city, and his untimely andtragic death carries sorrow into a score or inoi e of homes. The seet e at the home of Piank simply beggars description, while a similar scene was witnessed at the home of McCarty.Parcels Post Arrangement.
