Grubb arrived here and announced that he was well acquainted with the ancestors of John Grubb and Mrs. Job Calvin, of whom he was a relative, and there was a large fortune in Tennessee and Virginia which was subject to their order. His statement created a considerable excitement among those-interested and preparations were made for Mr Grubb Mrs. Calvin and Mlt;-ses Ward, to start south last Monday. But about 8 o'clock last Sunday evening the stranger who brought the news, and who was to pilot them to the fortune, disappeared and has not since been seen nor heard of. We learn, also, that the heart and hand of one of our fair young widows had been promised the rich relative and she, too, is left.
