WAUKEGAN, III. (UPI) — The chief bailiff of the Lake County Court system found himself on the other side of the bars over the weekend, one of 17 people arrested in a sweep of alleged gambling houses.Illinois Attorney General Tyrone Fahner said the raids culminated a year-long undercover investigation by county and state officials into Lake County gambling operations in which some county and state officials were involvedHe said a grand jury investigation was underway into organized criminal gambling in the county.The grand jury will investigate organized crime and gambling in Lake County as well as official misconduct,” Fahner said.
