Marschall .county agent left| Sunday for Mason, where he will be a witness in the trialMonday of a suit of a truck-1Idriver named Crump againstthe Commercial Bank of Masonfor collection of $1,700 set-upin a reward for information I leading to the arrest and conviction of the slayer of Sheriff] Allan T. Murray of MasonCounty. Sheriff Murray waskilled Feb. 28. 1029.The Tom Green County agentwas largely instrumental inbuilding up the reward Crumpwas said to have been paid $250as the portion of the reward* t offered by Governor Dan Moody | but the remainder of the re~I ward had not been disbursed.Ofelio Herrera, who had connections both in San Angelo'and San Antonio, was triedtwice for the killing of SheriffMurray and the second timewas convicted and sent to theelectric chair. A companion, 1 Antonio Chavez, was cleared.iSheriff Murray was attemptingto arrest Herrera in connectionwith the finding of 50 gallons of whiskey in a car when hewas killed.
