JESSE JAMES GANG . TAKE THE TOWN(By Appointed Press.) 'SIOUX PAULS. B. D., September 12.- I Valley Springs, thirteen miles east of Sioux Fulls, was between - and 3 o'clock this morning the scene of the operations of u regular Jesse James band of robbers. Residents of the town wero aroused by a number of explosions, and whon they appeared on the street to ascertain the cause, discovered that tho town wsrt picketed by seven or eight armed men, who drove the residents from the streets, throaleni'ng death If they attempted to Interfere with the robbors.Tho Mlnohnlia County Bank was tho i object of tho desperadoes, who hio'w open the safo which stood outside the vault and i secured betwoon JR.000 and flO.OPO. The vault was not touched. During tho rob- . bory one of tho pickets fired nt a citizen. but owing to a shortage of flro-nrms tho citizens were compelled to keep lr. the background until tho robbers had ccmploted thofr work and loft town.
