Court will open at 2 o’clock. The cases set down for trial are Carey vs. Merwin; Sutton, vs. Hartford Life and Annuity company; Arthur Edwards and wife vs. Stickney, administrator. The first case to be heard will be that of Minnie Carey against Arthur Merwin, of Durham, whom the young lady accuses of being the father of her child. The case it will be remembered was heard before Judge Calef last winter and Merwin was bound, over to the Superior Court. The case was down for trial at the April term, but owing to the illness of Minnie Carey, it was put over until this term. Merwin and Robinson will appear in behalf of Merwin, and the case of the town of Middletown, which is looking after the interest of Miss Carey, will be represented by Town Attorney Donahoe, assisted by M. E. Culver. The trial will probably occupy all of next week. Cases are not disposed of very readily now, owing to the short time court convenes in this country. Three weeks at each term comprises the time. One week out of that is set aside for criminal business, leav-ipg only two weeks to spare for the disposal of civil suits. As a general rule there are two or three important cases to be disposed of and thus the time of the court is taken up and the smaller and less important cases are continued term after term. It is rumored * that JudgePhelps is to wijiter in Florida, which will make one judge less on the bench, and thus it will be seen that not many cases can be heard in this county at the coming term.Judge Phelps, this morning, granted a divorce to Annie M. Bailey, from her husband, David N. Bailey. Cause, habitual intemperance.rn]oflwaofduThguGeopWtrcthlt;methlt;in|injlaianhaaBrtiimsanito-E.thsedecaco:tm(duthwiAheCathmisiithCOof
