In the struggle the boat upset and both were hurled Into the water.Doem struck out for shore leaving his victim to her fate. When he reached the land he hurriedly made his escape and has not been seen since.The girl’s cries tor help were he ml by Jimmy Goiter, son of Matt Goller, and Joseph Foostnen, a bricklayer. They jumped in Foosmen’s boat, aad reached the drowning girl as she sank for the last time.AtFoosmeti's house she was given a change of clothing by Mrs. Foosmen.and then rowed back to Ledger’s boat boiwe, where she waited until a cab arrived and was then taken to her home.The men who rescued Mi99 Hoel did not see Deem reach the Bhore and are inclined to believe he was drowned, In ajy event he has mysteriously disappeared and there is not even a slight clue to his present whereabouts.Chief Thomas hag sworn out a warrant fur his arrest.A postal card containing a cut of Deem has been mailed to various cities.M\ss Hoel was completely prostrated on account of her experience.
