Chief Pearson Gebhardt said today that his department is * working with state lire marshal 'Henry Dalbe, Elkhom, in further | investigation of suspected arson i in a fire which destroyed a Negro •family’s log cabin on the Bark j river road near here Thursday.Dalbe said that he had been : called into the case and had made la personal inspection of the scene.He said the state department ! would continue to investigate the case. He added that he would make no. comment on what he termed 4‘a rather ticklish situation'’ at this time.The cabin is owned by Elmer Douglas, Milwaukee, who bought it about a month ago. He reportedly is the first Negro to purchase property in this vicinity.
