KlHA young fellow uf 10 or 18 years of age came in on a late train from Chi- j rago Tuesday night and put up at the j q Central House. Wednesday morning he went to Paul IlaascLs 1 ivory barn and hired a horse and buggy, saying -*1 he wanted to go down to Crip Itiuyon’s * place at Cedar Lake and would be | a back at noon. Mr. Kaasch gave him j a pretty good buggy to which lie j 11 hitched his calico horse, and the young J fellow started out. He did not return at noon, and the shades of evening y began to fall and still then? was no signs of his returning. Mr. Raaseh began to get uneasy shortly after dinner and inquiry was made at the boarding bouse about the young fellow, ^ but nothing was learned beyond the ^ fact that he had come in on a late ^ train and stopped until morning like ° any other stranger, paying his bill. Telegrams were later sent out in all directions, but up to this lime (Thurs- 0 day morning) no tidings has been re- a ceived beyond the. fact that he passed 5l through Crestou some time Wednesday. Several persons are now nut inall directions looking for the thief, ^ who it is evident hired the horse and buggy with the express purpose of running it oil and disposing of it. Mr. Itaasch seems quite unlucky in this respect, as not very long ago he had a handsome team stolen, which he never got trace of, though he spent almost its price in attempting to overhaul thethief. *1Latch, — Fra r. k Ruehc rger n ruLvon ng vHeintz started out early yesterday a morning and drove to Cedar Lake. I There they got track of the fugitive and followed his track down to Cumber- j land Lodge, and found the young fel- ^ low sitting by a tree, the horse being detached from the buggy. He had put up with old Mr. and Mrs Stoltz, who were verv much distressed at the turnifaffairs had taken. He gave his name j5 as F. H. Doremer, sjnd residence at ^ 726 Superior street, Chicago. He was brought here about 1 o'clock yesterdayafternoon and jailed. The young man Is between 17 and J8 years of age, and has the appearance of being a rather 1 tough kid. He will doubtless be given a trip over the road. The horse and f buggy was recovered. teULjjihti1tvuV
