Wednesday morning he went to Paul Rausch's livery barn and hired a horse and huggv, sayinghe wanted t o go down to Crip Rinyon’splace at Cedar Lake and would be back at noon. Mr. Kaasch gave him a pretty good buggy to which he hitched his calico horse, a ad the young fellow started out. He did not return at noon, and the shades of evening began to fall and still there was no signs of his returning. Mr. Ttaasch began to get uneasy shortly after dinner and inquiry was made at the boarding house about the young fellow, j 1 but nothing was learned beyond the fact that he had come in on a late train and stopped until morning likv any other stranger, paving his bill. Telegrams were later sent out in all directions, but up to this time (Thursday morning) no tidings has been received beyond the fact that he passed through C res too some time Wednesday. Several persons are now out in all direct ions looking for the thief.who it is evident hired the horse and buggy with the express purpose of running it oil and disposing of it. Mr. Rausch seems quite unlucky in this respect, as not very long ago he had a handsome team stolen, which he never got trace of, though he spent almost its price in attempting to overhaul thethief.TaA Tj5ii.—Fra r. k rwer a ruLvoungHeintz. started out early yesterday morning and drove to Cedar Lake. There they got track of the fugitive and followed his track down toCumbor-land Lodge, and found the young fellow sitting by a tree, the horse being detached from the buggy. He had put up with old Mr. and Mrs Stoltz, who were very much distressed at the turn affairs had taken, lie gave his name as F. H, Doremer, ijnd residence at 726 Superior street, Chicago. He was brought here about 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon and jailed. The young man is between 17 and 18 years of age, and has the appearance of being a rather tough kid. He will doubtless be given a trip over the road. The horse and buggy was recovered.
