Attempted Assassination at Plainville.Jeffersonville, September 10.—Bert Millls, of New Province, hasbeen called to Plainville, by the attempted assassination of his father, Dr Miliis. A fcvv nights ago the doctor was called lt;o his door by an unknown party, and was struck 011 the head with a knife, and at the 6ame time his barn was discovered on Are, consumnmig all the contents, including four hordes. Tne would-be assassin and incendiary is believed to be the Fame party who burned the Jenkins Hotel some time ago, causing $6,000 loss.
