Osky man to be arraigned in Ottumwa 'slasher' attacksA Monday arraignment has been set in Wapello County District Court for an Oskaloosa man charged with attempting to murder two Ottumwa women in their homes.Russell A. Mil-likin, 26, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first-degree burglary.He is accusedof stabbing Kussell MillikinBrenda Overturf, 24, in her 508 N. Court apartment bedroom on July16.He also is accused of stabbing and using a fireplace poker to strike Desiree Mitchell, 16, in her bedroomat 423 N. Court on July 28.A second-degree burglary charge was originally filed in Wapello County Magistrate Court. It charges that Millikin broke into Kristi Dillard’s home at 119 W. Fifth but was scared away without incident.That charge has not been filed in district court, although Dillard is listed as a witness in court documents.Police arrested Millikin on July 28 minutes after an attacker was chased out of the home of Rex and Marty Larson. The Larsons are the parents of Desiree Mitchell.Police had beefed up patrols in the North Court area after the attack on Overturf, whose home was a block from the Larson home.Millikin is being held at Wapello County jail on $126,500 bond.
