COMMENCE TODAY.The Scholer Brothers Will Fnrnt the “Shooting the Chutes.'*Burlington is to have one of the Ion est “shooting the chutes” incline in t United States, starting from the top the bluff and endingfin the Mississip river. At least the Scholer brothei who live in the vicinity of Crapo pai have paid for the privilege of erecti: the chutes and were intending to coi mence work today. The chute will 500 feet long and 150 feet high, and wh the bdat strikes the water it will go hi way to Big Island. Steam power and big cable will be used to haul the ski back again. The other chutes in diffl ent cities are all artificial affairs, t this will have a greater air of naturi ness about it, beginning on the hi bluff and ending in the great Father) Waters. Electric lights will be plac at convenient spots so that the Mg can be indulged in evenings. The ch* for riding will be low enough so that can enjoy the sport. I
