Twoi' young girts so near the age of sixteen that they can swear one way of the other without going far out of the way have beou arrested, for wandering about nights, drinking beer at dances, sleeping in outhouses and being unable to proper! v account for themselves. Mon-day they were in court and committed to jail for thirty day, being sixteen vears of age as they testi-liecl. The sheriff and police justice, as well as the others concerned thought it unwise to keep thorn in jail as companions of Frank La Seile and possibly other abandoned women, but there was no other way to punish them. So steps wore taken to commit them to the industrial shook One looks to be not older than fifteen, and the mother of the other, is enough in doubt about it so that the commitment would probably stand. The seemingly elder ono was put upon the stand to testify as to her companion, and told her story with cool precision, failing to remember at important points as neatly os a regular old professional prevaricator.
