Kautman c unty.A gentleman who makes notes of such things as he sees, and furnishes them sometimes, passed throagb the city a few days ago and reports iu reference to matters in and around Cedar Grove, Kaufman county:There was one man killed in Cedar Grove immediately after the surrender. Not lon^ utter that there was a man hung, and some time after that there was a negro killed in Cedar Grove. Not long after that there were two negroes killed near by. About twelve months ago a white man was killed within two miles of Cedar Groye. On the 30th day of April last J. N. KurJc-r, a youth, was killed by three outlaws, viz: John Pearce, M. B. Choate and S. C. Allen. On the 9th of August there was a man shot by the name of Gatlin. Up to this time nothing has been done with them. The whole country in and aronnd Cedar Grov is filled up with the worsY characters that are in Texa9. There aie a few loyal* men living around Cedar Grove, aud they have been afraid to say anything till ihe present. A few of the citizens tried to have the ofi^nders arrested, but failed, owing to information being given to the murderous gang.
