One year later she was married to Henry Barten at I’eotone, 111., where they resided four years after which theymoved to Xewton county near Brdok, and lived on their farm until 11*04, when they moved to Good-land where she resided until her death Sept. 3, 1012.To this union was born nine children, six daughters and three sous, of which four daughters ■ and two song survive her, three children having preceded her to the Home beyond, two dying in infancy. Mrs. Wm. Watt was called aliout sixteen months before her.Mrs. Barten was taken ill in January 11)12, and later the doctors pronounced her trouble diabetes. A sore formed on the left foot and on July 13th, the attending physician amputated one toe. About Aug. 25th the symptons of blood poison appeared.Aug. 27th, she was removed to Augustina Hospital in Chicago. Aug. 28th her left limb was amputated just below the knee. The presence of gangrene prevented her limb from healing and pneumonia followed, which caused ht r death at the age of sixty-nine years, seven months and nine days.We have reason to believe that she died in the faith of her God and Savior Jesus Christ. She has always been a member of the church, faithful to the one of her youth, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in which she was baptized and con* firmed.A few days before her departure, she desired and received the Lord’s Supper so that she might be pre* pared to meet her Judge and Saviour. She was a good and faithful wile, a lowing mother and a peaceful neighbor. May her soul rest in peace.Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the German Lutheran Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Paul.
