—Mr. P. M. Crapo today submitted to tho county board of supervisors propositions for the erection of the pedestal for the Corse monument at the new park and for the mounting ctf the statue. The board found everything in connection with it satisfactory and will take final action at •the next regular meeting.—The Gazette’s 'interview with Senator Gear upon the posfcofflee question, it will be remembered, fixed the time of completion of the new postoffice at January 1st. From present appearances this period wiW be lengthened by at least thirty days. Superintendent Turpin expresses the opinion that the building will not be ready for occupancy before February 1st. The interior finishers are at work and the material is on the ground for the sidewalk around the building.—Park Commissioners Crapo and Starker have addreissed a communication to the Common Council giving ia full account of their proceedinglt; as commissioners, and some views as to the future of the park. The complete colored map made from the recent topographical survey by Cincinnati landscape artists will be ready to submit to the commissioners and council very coon. The commissioners ask the council to name the park, so that the name may be properly inserted on the maps, which formality is regarded as necessary by the landscape artists.
