Claims Rockefeller is her fatherLITTLE ROCK (AP) - A former aide lo the late Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller disputes an allegation by a Houston woman that Rockefeller was her father.The aide, who was close to Rockefeller, said the allegation had been made before and that Rockefeller said it was not true.A daughter of the late Candace Mossier testified that the late millionairess once told her that, the daughter's real father was Rockefeller.Rockefeller, who was governor from 1966-70, was the grandson of multimillionaire John D. Rockefeller of New York. Winthrop Rockefeller died of cancer in 1572.His son, Winthrop Paul Rockefeller. lives at Winrock Farms on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton.Rita Johnson Wilder. 33. testified in the trial on the validity of a 1575 supplement to Mrs. Mossier’s will that disinherits three of Mrs. Mossler’s adopted children.Two of the adopted children, [Janie! and Christoper, are contesting the amendment in probate court at Houston.Attorney John Holloway, who represents the two adopted children. prompted the testimony Friday from Mrs. Wilder during cross-examination by asking if Mrs. Mossier ever told her that Winthrop Rockefeller was her father.Mrs. Wilder responded. Yes.”Holloway asked her if it didn’t seem “odd or strange” lo her that her mother would tell her Rockefeller was her real father when her birth certificate shows a Norman Johnson as her natural father.Johnson was Mrs. Mossler's husband prior to her marriage to the late Jacques Mossier.Mrs. Wilder said she didn’t find it odd that a mother would confide in her daughter.Mrs. Wilder said she couldn't recall exactly when her mother told her about Rockefeller, but said she thought it might have been around 1973.According to Rockefeller’s biography. the former governor served overseas during World War II in 1944-45 as an Army major.
