Wakollelcl Touche Object to His Closing: His Hotel at Saugus*Lynn, Sept. 4.—Daniel Haggerty is the proprietor of a small hotel situated in North Saugus. For some time past it has been tho custom of men from different places to go there on a Sunday. Haggerty in some manner ascertained that a gang was coming there today from Wakefield, and, not wishing to entertain them, lie closed up the house. About 2 o’clockThomas W. O'Neil, Frank Flagg, Thomas F. Shannahan, Philip J. Duffy and Daniel C. Flaifg. a 1 of Wakefield, putMug the house closedin appearance, and tintcommenced to make t ------- -dngs lively for theproprietor. Several missiles were thrown at him, and one of ihe number fired a revolverim, and onoot ilio number fired a revolver i’ gun, lut fortunattdy the bullet struck le heel of Haggerty’s boot, doing but littleor _ thedamage.Ofiicer Fly and another policeman appeared on the scene, and succeeded in arresting the whole gang. They were then placed in a team and taken to the Lynn police station and locked up. In court Tuesday they will bo arraigned charged with assaulting Mr. Haggerty.
