Stealing Grapes.—The vineyard be* longing to John Altmeyer, on Chap-line Hill, has lately suffered to a large extent from the raids of grape thieves. Two of these, named Wesley Harris and llenrv Sager, were caught in the vineyard on Sunday afternoon and were committed to jail by ’Squire Johnston) to await a hearing yesterday morning. At the trial it was proved that over one hundred vines had been broken down aud stripped of grapes. Most of the vines had the appearance of having been lately injured. Mr. Altmyer fixed his loss at $00. This makes the case one of grand larceny, and ’Squire Johnston required the accused to give bail in the sum of $500 each to answer an indictment. In default they were sent to jail.
