Woman Freed In KillingA second degree murder charge against Mrs* Mary Etta Warfield was dismissed in district court Wednesday.Mrs, Warfield was tried before a district court jury last October for killing her husband, Daniel War* field, but the trial ended in a hung jury. Jurymen later said the vote had been eight for conviction and four for dismissal.. The dismissal left the court with* , out a single pending murder , charge.\ The charge was dropped on a motion by John Fontron, Mrs. , jVarfield’s attorney.| Mrs. Warfield had claimed dur* i ing the trial and had nine witnesses to support her contention that she killed her husband with- ft shotgun in self defense.The shooting took place March 9, 1951 in the Warfield apartment 4bove the Blue Note cafe, 506South Main*He made me do it,” Mrs, Warfield was quoted as saying when she was found in a hysterical condition following the killing.She had been at liberty under $5,000 bond since the trial ended last October.
