But Definite Decision May NotBe Made Until R. D. Waugh ArrivesAccording to information reaching this city, there is no intention on the part of the provincial government to open a liquor store in Brandon at the present time. It was stated today by A. A. Howe, liquor inspector under the Temperance ac£, that it had been intimated to him that stores outside of Winnipeg would not be opened until it was seen what the requirementswould be. Just now there Is nothingto indicate that one of the liquor stores will be located here, although it is probable that nothing definite will be determined until R. I). Waugh, commissioner under the moderation act, arrives in Winnipeg tomorrow night.If the government does not intend opening a store here it is likely that a delegation will go to Winnipeg and urge that the original plan to locate a distributing store here, he gone ahead with. It was reported two weeks ago that warehouse and office space was being sought in this city, but that any plans had not been divulged.No Permits Here VetThere has been considerable inquiry made as to the issuance of permits to secure beer and liquor. Permits are being issued from the commissioner’s office in Winnipeg, the breweries report, but full information as to how* Brandonites can obtain permits will probably be made knownwithin the next few days.
