Piock, do-posed to presenting tho chequo at the bank, and being told there was no account.Charles Cooling Sharp, keeper of tho Victoria hotel, Sandridge, deposed that tho prisoner had been in his employ os comic singer, and that he left on tho 27th August. Ho never gavo prisoner tho cheque produced or any similar one. It was a forgery.jomca Horan, ledgcr-kccpcr at tho Colonial Bank, would never pay the cheque os that of tho last witness.The jury, after obout an hour’s deliberation, returned a verdict of Guilty on both counts, and tho prisoner vras sentenced to two years’ hard labour.
