She graduated from Douglass High school In 1934 as the dais valedictorian In April of 1955 she fried a suit for the right to attendTexas Western College This was at the least an ambitious task In July of 1955. approxi mately 10 days before her casewas to go to the Supreme Court, admission was grantedby Texas Western College. The Supreme Court also ruled in her favor.Following in the footsteps of her mother. ChantreCamack undertook another herculean task in attempting to secure a headstone for her mother's then unmarked gravesite As the suit started with the writing of one document.so did the request for assis tancc in obtaining the head stone Both women achievedsuccess beyond their initialmm?βIt Is wonderful to witness the outreach achievedfrom writing one letter, especially when I had never met Sue Pratt or University President Diana Natalicio.** Chantre Camack.
