IS SOUGHT IN RACINEFEKTON SPAI’L1ING, PROMINENT IN NEW JERSEY BUSINESS CIRCLES, LIVED HERE SHORT TIME WITH WOMAN NOT HIS WTFforFenton 8paulding. a prominent business rhan of Bloomfield. N. J.,president of the Spaulding Chain corporation. and a woman named Elsie Rithman, or Sutherland, wanted by the police of Newark. N. J., were in this city a short time ago and lived at 749 Villa street, representing themselves as man and wife, but they got J away before the local detectives could apprehend them for the New Jersey officers.On Aug. IT Chief of Police Baker received a letter from Michael T. Long, chief of police of Newark, with a picture of Spaulding, which stated that Spaulding was reported missing by his wife and that there was a warrant against him for desertion.Further that he had been informed that Spaulding was living at 7 49 Villa street with another woman, under the name of A. C. Thomas, or that he might use the name of Arthur Harris, and that the woman with him was Elsie Rithman. anq, that she also used the name of Sutherland.Chief Baker was requested to locate the parties if possible, place them mi der arrest and hold them until Newark officers could get here and ’aklt;-him or both back east.Detective Peil was detailed on thecase and armed with the photograph of Spaulding he called at 74r‘ Villa Street, and ascertained that the couple lived there, representing themselves a man and wife.Spaulding remained about two or three days and left saving h* was going east, while the woman staved perhaps two weeks, when '•he left with the statement hat she was glt;-in? east to join hei husband.That was all the information obtainable in Raeine. The store « urn* to light when one ot Cie New York newspapers sent a telegram here, askingthat Spaulding be interviewed in regard to why he left his wife and family.
