-In the Toils.Among the cases noted for trial at the August term of the Delta county circuit court, which began its session at Escauaba on the 25th n!L, is the people of Michigan against Charles Baptist. On inquiry it is learned that the prisoner Is a son or Charles Baptist, sr., $ formPF resident of this county, who is well HPOWh in the town of Sevastopol, where he was born and bred, it we are nob mistaken. Young Baptist was arrested the fore'part of last July for having,broken into a shanty owned and occupied ly a Couple of men, and situated near Escanaba, and carried away a trunk containing SUO in money and some other valuable property. His arrest was soon afterward effected by the Sheriff and it is the opinion of those who are conversant’ with the matter that the young fellow will he compelled to serve the state for tho.ensuing'five.or ten^years. •i y t * •» • * *
