The dog boggeddown in the mud and Brin-tite went after him. - •'A few feet from shore. Brindle stumbled and fell face down, McCaulay went in to help Brindle ar.d also fell face down. • ' • - •' Deputies said the mud apparently was too thick for the boys to regain their footing and to deep for them to touch bottom and brace themselves with theirarms.
